Chief Constable’s contract renewed for another year

SUSSEX Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne, has extended Sussex Police Chief Constable, Martin Richard’s, contract of employment by another year, the maximum term permissible.
Ms Bourne said: “Following discussion and agreement with the Chief Constable, I am extremely pleased to announce that Mr Richard’s contract of employment has been extended until October 2014.
“This gives us almost two years to build on the professional relationship we have already established.
“We have had some very good discussions and I am looking forward to working with him.”
Chief Constable Martin Richards said: “I am delighted that Commissioner Katy Bourne has asked me to carry on serving the people of Sussex.
“It is a great responsibility, honour and something I am incredibly passionate about.
“It has been, and will continue to be, a time of great change for policing nationally, with Sussex no exception.
“I am pleased that I will be able to provide some stability during this time and continue driving the changes we are making.
