Councillor elected to serve on new National Park Authority
WILLINGDON and Jevington Parish Councillor Jo Carr has also been elected to serve on the board of the recently formed South Downs National Park Authority.
A spokesperson for the council said, "We are delighted to report that Councillor Jo Carr has been elected to serve on the board of the South Downs National Park Authority, a tremendous achievement considering the number of people she was standing against.
"With her farming and legal background, councillor Carr is well placed to represent East Sussex.
"We wish Jo well and look forward to hearing how the Authority progresses leading up to April 2011."
The national park authority will work in partnership with other local authorities and organisations and become fully operational in April 2011.
