E-fit of robbery suspect is released by police

Police have this week released an e-fit picture of a suspect believed to be connected with a robbery in St Leonards.

A 41-year-old victim was approached by four men who got hold of him and searched through his pockets before making off with a French Connection wallet containing 60.

He was then pushed to the ground but was not injured.

The four men made off along Tower Road West, where the attack happened.

Police said the robbery took place on July 20 at around 10.30pm and hope the e-fit picture will jog people's memories.

The man in the e-fit is 6ft 4ins tall, white, in his early 20s and stockily built with a bulbous nose. He wore a single glove on one hand at the time of the attack.

The second man was stocky and wore a tweed flat cap, the third, of average build and the fourth attacker was covering his face with a scarf. He was wearing orange trainers.

All four were believed to be in their early 20s.

Detective Constable Tina Day, of Hastings CID, said: "The victim has told us there were members of the public in the street at the time who would have witnessed this happening.

"I am hoping that this image will be recognised by someone who knows this man, and I would urge them to get in touch with Hastings CID with any information about his identity."

Callers can reach Hastings CID on 0845 60 70 999.
