Eastbourne gears up for 'Tourism Week'

EASTBOURNE is getting ready for a packed week of events and special offers to celebrate British Tourism Week next week (March 15-March 21) including taking the seaside destination to London Olympia for the Best of Britain and Ireland (BoBI).

From a spring star watch using some of the country's largest telescopes at The Observatory Science Centre and a four-wheeled ride along the seafront with Ride N Joy's quadricycles to an English tradition at the country's only five star seaside hotel or an afternoon of sporting action, Eastbourne will be highlighting its diverse tourism product to visitors old and new.

For the first time this year, Eastbourne will be exhibiting at the country's biggest ever exhibition of British Tourism with a stand at BoBI and visitors and tour operators will have the chance to discover more about the East Sussex resort as well as enter a prize draw to win a Powerboat Adventure courtesy of Sussex Voyages.

Other attractions are joining in the British Tourism Week celebrations too with Ride N Joy offering an early taste of Easter with free Easter eggs for children hiring a quadricycle, while Eastbourne Borough FC welcome travelling fans as they take on Grays Athletic at Priory Lane.

British Tourism Week - in its fourth year - aims to raise awareness of the size, value and importance of Britain's 114 billion visitor economy and culminates in a four day tourism showcase from March 17 - March 20 at London's Olympia.
