Eastbourne railway station staff scoop top award
EASTBOURNE Railway Station has scooped a major award.
The station picked up the award at the first-ever Southern Stars and Tsars ceremony for its conductors' depot.
Judges said, "This depot has consistently excelled in promoting Southern's values and has demonstrated excellent customer service on a daily basis.
"Of all the surveys completed by the customer service team on conductors from this depot, more than 95 per cent have achieved the required 90 per cent standard.
"They have been described as consistently providing a well presented, polite and helpful service.
"They are proactive in identifying faults and providing ideas and suggestions to benefit customers."
The depot has received 1,000 to spend on something to benefit passengers as well as cash for a treat for the staff.
