Eastbourne school has new head
ST ANDREW'S School has announced the appointment of its new headteacher, following the school's amalgamation with Eastbourne College.
Simon Severino will be taking over the reins of the Meads prep school in September. He succeeds current headmaster Jeremy Griffith, who is stepping down at the end of the summer term.
Simon is currently deputy head of Dulwich College Prep School in south east London and has more than 17 years' experience of working in prep schools.
He has a degree in geography from Hertford College, Oxford and previously taught at Culford Prep School in Suffolk.
St Andrew's and Eastbourne College communities very much look forward to welcoming Simon, his wife Emma and their young son, Henry, to Eastbourne.
The amalgamation of the two schools took place month. The two schools are now operating under one board of governors made up of representatives from the existing bodies.
However, both schools will continue to operate independently: each with its own headteacher responsible to the governing body through a joint finance committee and two general purpose committees – one for each school.
