Eleven new buses for Bexhill route

PASSENGERS travelling on the 99 bus route through Bexhill are to benefit from a £1.6million investment in the fleet.
Stagecoach, which operates the route between Hastings and Eastbourne, introduced 11 new buses from Sunday (January 22).
These are brand new ADL Enviro 400 double decker buses and will be operated from the company’s Hastings and Eastbourne depots.
At the official launch held in Bexhill, Stagecoach’s regional managing director Phil Medlicott said the new vehicles replace older models that had entry steps.
“Not only do the new buses have easier access for wheelchair users and people travelling with child buggies, they are more environmentally friendly with low emission engines to reduce pollution.”
The buses are part of Stagecoach’s £5m investment in new vehicles for East Sussex with the introduction of five new single deck buses in Eastbourne in December, and a further 23 new single deck buses will be delivered to the Hastings depot from March.
