Haywards Heath's new 999 station unveiled

THE public are being invited to see their new 999 station in Haywards Heath this Saturday (September 4).

The station will opening its doors at its annual 999 Day from 11am to 4pm.

Part of Mill Green Road will be closed to traffic due to the wide variety of entertainment taking place.

There will be displays by the Fire Service including rescue drills and chip pan demonstrations, by South East Coast Ambulance Service, Sussex Police Dog Unit and West Sussex Youth Services plus a chance to find out about some of the departments and vehicles used by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, Sussex Police, and SECAmb.

There will be stands ranging from face painting, the Red Cross, the National Blood Service, Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, greeting cards, the Firefighter's Charity, Golden Lions Trust plus a disco, refreshments and barbecue and fire engine rides.

The proceeds from this event will be divided between the Firefighter's Charity and St Peter and St James Hospice.
