Jimmy Osmond to star in Hastings panto
An international pop legend will be starring in the White Rock pantomime this year.
Jimmy Osmond, the youngest member of the all conquering entertainment dynasty, will play Buttons in Cinderella, bringing a touch of sunkissed sparkle to 1066 Country.
He was the youngest ever solo chart topper when his 1972 hit Long-Haired Lover from Liverpool made nine-year-old Jimmy a star, and his musical talents shone through in the West End, first in Grease and then in Chicago.
The Californian crooner has found fame on the small screen as well, appearing in I'm A Celebrity…Get Out Of Here!, Celebrity Come Dine With Me, All Star Family Fortunes and Saturday Kitchen, and most recently in celebrity sing-off show From Popstar to Operastar.
This year's pantomime is being staged by Qdos Entertainment for the first time ever and Rob Allerston, theatre director of the White Rock, said: "The sensational Jimmy Osmond combined with the production values brought to the stage by Qdos Entertainment means an exciting new start for pantomime, not only at the White Rock Theatre but also for Sussex and the South Coast.
"We are very much looking forward to welcoming Jimmy and the cast to Hastings for what will be a magnificent pantomime season."
Cinderella runs from Saturday December 11 to Sunday January 2 - to book tickets call 01424 462288 or visit www.whiterocktheatre.org.uk.
