Look at the night sky with prof Brian Cox

Bexhill fans of BBC 2’s Stargazing Live series will be thrilled to know East Sussex Astronomical Society is taking part in special observing events on Friday and Saturday.

This will be at the De La Warr Pavilion. ESAS has had close links with the BBC for many years, most of all through Sir Patrick Moore who sadly died just before Christmas, and Kaddy Lee-Preston, of BBC South East weather reports and also Inside Out.

ESAS will have an array of telescopes to view the night sky, and founder Andy Lawes will give Laser guided tours of the constellations.

Also showing on a big screen will be messages from the delightful professor Brian Cox who is presenter of the series Star Gazing Live.

On show will be the moon, Jupiter with its gas bands and Galilean satellites, Nebula, Galaxies and many constellations.

The event is obviously weather dependant, and if not suitable the event will be carried over to the following Friday and Saturday, check web site www.esas.org.uk for details, call 0792345 8516 or email andy@esas.org.uk
