Observer series editor in chief KEITH RIDLEY talks about the relaunch of the Bexhill Observer newspaper on Friday October 5.

Now the even better news . We’re about to get even bigger and brighter!.

In two weeks’ time - for our issue of October 5 - we’re going to change to give you more news, more features and some new sections - all within a fresh, bold new look.

The biggest change of all will be the addition of a 16-page entertainments and what’s on section, called The Guide. We’ll bring you better-than-ever coverage of the theatre, music and arts scenes, as well as cinema news and comprehensive local listings. There will also be dining out and gardening pages and the best of the rest - a round-up of what’s happening on the entertainments scene across East Sussex. And for puzzle lovers amongst you, a new section to tickle those brain cells.

Some things won’t change. For example, our in-depth news coverage. Our research shows that you like our comprehensive local package. But it also tells us that you like reading the letters and comment, and we’re introducing more nostalgia, and more background features on breaking news topics, including a new ‘Friday feature’. And much, much more.

Above all, we want to keep the Observer as your paper. We want to hear your views, so let us know what you think. The changes won’t be done and dusted on October 5. We want to continue to evolve. If there’s something you wanted to see included, then please get in touch. The Bexhill Observer is your paper. We want you to help us to shape its content, week after week.

We are breaking more and more news on our increasingly popular website. Why not join the thousands of readers who already visit us each month? But for the full package - including analysis and in-depth reporting - we hope that your Observers will be a better buy than ever.

We’ll tell you more next week - in the meantime, make October 5 a date in your diary.
