Picture Gallery: Thursday a snow day as cold snap returns to Bexhill

Blizzards resulting in around five inches of the white stuff on Thursday morning closed most of Bexhill's schools and disrupted rail links but did not deter Observer photographer Steve Hunnisett.

A power outage at Collington station compounded the woes of early morning commuters.

The hardy few schools who managed to open were Chantry Community Primary, St Richard's and Charters Ancaster.

Rother District Council suspended all waste collection, urging residents to leave their bins out until they are collected, even if that means leaving them over the weekend.

If you have any images of the snow, send them in to bexobs@trbeckett.co.uk and we will add them to our online gallery.
