Public asked to help CID probe

POLICE are appealing for help in tracing burglars who broke into a property in Clavering Walk, Bexhill, in broad daylight last Sunday.

The thieves struck between 10.55am and 4.25pm last Sunday, March 10, and after gaining entry stole various items, including a variety of bank cards and a quantity of cash.

Detectives investigating the incident are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, and in particular strangers or vehicles that may have looked out of place.

Meanwhile, local police are also making enquiries into other thefts reported in Bexhill, but which are not thought to be linked to Sunday’s burglary.

Two laptop computers were stolen from an office in Amherst Road, Bexhill, overnight on the previous Sunday, March 3.

In Beeching Road a van parked for just half-an-hour between 7.30am and 8am on Wednesday, February 27, was targeted by a thief who stole a quantity of tools.

And in London Road, Bexhill, last Sunday, March 10, a bag whose contents included cameras and binoculars was stolen from a parked vehicle at around 2pm.

Anyone with information about any of these incidents is asked to contact Sussex Police by telephoning 101, or to use the free, anonymous Crimestoppers linkline, 0800 555111.

They can also speak to any police officer or police commununity support officer, or call at Bexhill police station in Terminus Road, which is open weekdays 10am to 2pm and 3pm to 6pm, but closed to the public at weekends. `
