Red Cross Coffee Morning raises £104

THE BRITISH Red Cross, Thalia House centre held it's monthly coffee morning at the weekend and raised £104.

The coffee mornings, which are always popular with local residents, had plenty on offer.

Stalls sold bric a brac, clothes, books, toys and cakes. There was a tombola a raffle, and refreshments were served.

Centre organiser Rosemary Berry said it's thanks to the efforts of volunteers and the support of locals that ensures the coffee mornings, which are held on the third Saturday of each month, are so successful.

Rosemary said: "The amount raised was an excellent total. We had some illness among our volunteers but they still did an excellent job; and thanks to our regulars for their continued support."
