Rye becoming film capital of South East
Rye is re-inforcing its status as a highly desired location for film makers and television crews.
latest to arrive in town was Richard and Judy presenter Richard Madeley who was exploring the town's range of antiques establishments last Tuesday.
The Programme will go out at prime time in the spring.
Two weeks earlier Dan Snow was in town film a series of programmes about the Cinque Ports to be called 'Britain from the Coast'.
In February, TV chefs the Hairy Bikers were filming at the fishing quay during Rye's annual Scallop Festival. The programme was broadcast last week.
Last year saw Michael Caine staying at the George after filming at Camber Sands and Rye for his latest movie Is There Anybody There.
Earlier this year Radio Four broadcast Any Questions from Rye College.
Derick Holman, from the Rye Chamber of Commerce said. "It's been an eye opener to be involved in the set up procedure of Any Questions for several weeks in advance and to be part of the wind down and inquest process.
"They were intrigued to know how we found such a large audience in the middle of August and to hear about the 'Rye, East Sussex' Facebook page.
The producer Victoria Wakeley telephoned only a week ago to check on our audit of political parties that had attended - to confirm our promise of political balance.
"With national and local radio , French television having visited twice and several film crews using our town it does sometimes feel as if Rye has become the media capital of the South Coast."
