School chums remember taxi driver Anthony

JUST over £700 was raised by big-hearted schoolfriends of taxi driver Anthony Willard who died in a crash on the M25 three weeks ago.

The ‘old gang’ got together at a Bexhill High School reunion to bring back pupils of 1977 and Anthony, 50, had planned to be there.

Organiser Debbie Hayes held the event at Centre Stage, her venue in London Road, and some 70 former schoolmates attended.

Debbie said thanks to the “massive” support of everyone there, they were able to raise funds for Anthony’s family.

Her husband James said: “Anthony was going to be attending so it all took a natural course that people wanted to catch up with old friends but remember past ones as well.”

Debbie said: “I would like to thank especially Sam Trotman, Soul Man Sam (pictured), who gave his services for free and to everyone that contributed to the fundraising.”
