Spreading the word for fairness
Bexhill Fairtrade Steering Committee was “delighted” to present a new certificate of support to Nick and Dru Tramaseur, owners of The Old Vicarage b&b in Brassey Road.
With the recent successful renewal of Bexhill Fairtrade Town status, the local leaflet advising visitors of businesses and organisations using, producing or supplying fairtrade goods will have many new additions such as b&b’s to add to the growing list.
Chairman of Bexhill Fairtrade committee Jack Doherty commented: “It is great to see commitment such as shown by Nick and Dru to the ethos of fairtrade. New businesses and organisations are joining us all the time and with Fairtrade Fortnight approaching this month we are delighted to give recognition to the many individuals who are helping to raise the awareness of fairtrade.”
The committee urges other establishments and work places to “make it your business to be Fairtrade.”
Fairtrade Fortnight runs from Monday February 25 - Sunday March 10, and the committee is planning many events across the town including tastings, information stalls, school talks, church breakfasts and a large business event run in conjunction with Rother District Council at the Town Hall.
