The sky's the limit as mum and daughter plan parachute jump

THE SKYS the limit for a Bexhill mum and daughter as they plan to overcome their fear of heights to do a charity parachute jump.

Brave Nina Cruttenden, 55, and daughter Donna Ray, 24, will be (wether conditions permitting) hurling themselves out of an aeroplane at 12,000ft on September 24 to do the skydive and raise funds for the Help for Heroes, a charity which supports the wounded in Britain's current conflicts.

Ironically neither ladies has a head for heights, Donna said:

"Neither of us are keen on heights or flying to say the least so this is going to be quite a challenge for the both of us. To say we are nervous about the day is probably an understatement but it is a very good cause that we both feel strongly about."

Nina used to work for Windmill Drive post office and whilst there started parcel collections for the troops in Afghanistan. Although she has no longer works their the local post office continues with the good work and to date have sent a total of 1,081 parcels.

Nina said: "The parcel collection was set up to help the troops in Afghanistan feel some of the comforts from home that are not available out there. We now want to do something to help the troops who are sadly coming back home injured."

"This is all close to our hearts as our son/brother is in the army and has served in Afghanistan. Having spoken to him recently we now realise how many of our troops are coming home injured and receiving full time care from Help for Heroes to help them recover to as higher degree as possible."

If anyone would like to support the ladies in their quest, donation boxes are situated at Windmill Drive post office, Bexhill Observer, Sackville Road, and at the No48 caf in Devonshire Road.

Alternatively, to sponsor on-line, visit the web address which will take everyone straight to Nina's page at: www.bmycharity.com/V2/ninacruttenden.
