Toddler inspiration for autism charity

A MUM whose two-year-old son has autism is using her insight into the condition to set up a charity.

Sally Huggett, who lives in Stone Cross, has given up a career as a registered theatre nurse to set ICT4Autism.

Her son Daniel, pictured right, has autism and global development delay and uses a special touch screen computer.

She wants other children to have access to such technologies and aims to provide 150 children with adaptive computer technology over the next year.

Sally said, "I am looking for pledges for our charity to help these children with disabilities who suffer exclusion due to their difficulties and due to disabled families being more likely to live in poverty due to wage earners like myself having to give up work to look after the disabled child full time."

On Wednesday (March 3) she launched the website www.ict4autism.org
