Warning after pack of dogs cause havoc at Highwoods

A DOG was attacked by a pack of five dogs at Highwoods at the weekend.

Police are looking for the dog’s owner and dog walkers have been warned to keep control of their animals at the popular beauty spot.

On Saturday (March 9) a female Doberman dog was attacked in the Highwoods by a pack of five dogs who were described as being out of control.

The dog was badly frightened and ran away, and wasn’t found until two hours later - three miles away near King Offa School.

Alan Dengate, the treasurer of Highwoods Preservation Society, said: “Her owners were understandably very upset and hugely worried.

“The lady walking the “attacking pack” seemed oblivious to their behaviour. She apparently drives a silver Volvo car.

“The Committee of the Highwoods Preservation Society view this as totally unacceptable behaviour by any responsible dog walker.

“ We expect every dog walker to maintain proper control of their dog/s and not to allow their dogs to behave so badly as to affect other dogs, dog walkers and woodland users.

“It is reported that this is the second time in a fortnight that this pack have attacked the same dog.”

The incident has been reported to Sussex Police.
