Hastings and Rother Rainbow Alliance have announced that their Annual General Meeting last Friday (October 28) was a great success and included book signings by two local authors.
The meeting was held at Bexhill Youth and Community Centre. Speakers included Mayor of Bexhill, Councillor Elford, and Matt West, East Sussex Hate Crime Officer.
A new Committee was elected and members gave updates on projects, including the Trans Group, the Walking Group, Bridge group, Supper Club, Theatre group and Book Clubs.
Sally Taylor spoke about the new Healthy Living Club for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people over 50 which is run by Age UK with support from Hastings and Rother Rainbow Alliance.
The business meeting was followed by a buffet, raffle, music and dancing.
Local authors VG Lee and Paul Burston signed copies of their new books, Mr Oliver’s Object of Desire and The Black Path - which has been longlisted for the Guardian’s Not The Booker Prize.
HRRA Co-Chair Nadine West says it was a very successful event. “It was a great evening and we had a good turn out.
