Boost for Bexhill

A major business development on farmland near the link road has been given the green light by planners.

Sea Change Sussex was granted outline planning permission to create an enterprise park on up to 15,000 sq metres of land in north east Bexhill.

The scheme - the largest single employment development approved in the history of the district council -
has been described as a “catalyst” for economic development.

Sea Change Sussex claims the scheme, which will see a mix of office space and light industrial use, will appeal to local companies, small and medium enterprises and regional firms.

The site, on land at Glovers Farm, in Glovers Lane, will be crossed by the northern part of the new Gateway Road -
approved by planners in August - which will connect the Link Road with Wrestwood Road.

Cllr Brian Kentfield, chairman of the planning committee, said: “This application marks a significant milestone in the future development of Bexhill and is a vote of confidence from the business community to invest in Rother.

“The grant of planning
permission will act as
a catalyst to stimulate development.”
