An electrical fault at Aldi in Bexhill was attended to by firefighters this morning (Thursday, August 20).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to London Road at around 8.15am to reports of smoke in a plant room.

An electrical fault was found to have caused the smoke but no action was needed by firefighters.

The Observer has heard unconfirmed reports the store is closed and will be shut until this afternoon.
