Church calls minister from Cambridge to Bexhill

Worshippers at a local church will be lead by a new minister after a service installing the newcomer on Saturday (July 19).

Richard John Stein has joined the United Reform Church (URC), Cantelupe Road, having finished training at Westminster College, Cambridge; a hub of education for the URC.

Brian Bowyer, of the Bexhill URC, described the appointment as “a new chapter” in the church’s life. Richard Stein first visited the Bexhill church in November 2013, when, Brian said, he “made a great impression on the congregation”.

“He will be a great asset to the Christian community at large in the town,” Brian added.

Richard arrives in Bexhill with his family: his wife, Jolayn, and their two-year-old daughter, Aria (both pictured with Richard).

Brian said: “The church community is made up of all age groups who come from all walks of life. The opportunities for children and young people are particularly good. Although one of the small mainstream Christian denominations, The United Reformed Church plays a dynamic and challenging part in the British Christian community.”
