A charity has received a boost thanks to a bucket collection held at Sainsbury’s in Bexhill.
On Friday (June 6) and Saturday (June 7) a group of volunteers were at the store to help raise funds in aid of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice.
Pam Doodes organised the event and was absolutely amazed at the generosity of the people of Bexhill.
She said: “People were interested and appreciative of the work of the hospice and gave happily.
“The volunteers were greeted with a smile, it was such a relaxed happy time.
“When all the buckets and boxes were counted we were all delighted to learn that the sum of £922.45 had been collected.”
Pam would like to thank everyone who supported the cause, especially Jim who spent most of the two days with his bucket collecting funds, and the store for letting them hold the fundraiser.
Chestnut Tree House cares for children and young adults aged 0 - 19 years of age with progressive life-shortening conditions.
