Bexhill and District Gardens and Allotments Society hold their third open afternoon tea event on Thursday July 2 from 2pm to 4pm in the Christchurch Methodist Church Hall.

The hall is on the corner of Springfield Road near Bexhill Hospital.

Dennis Langley will give a talk/quiz and slide show on ‘TV Memories of Yesteryear’ and there will be a cream tea. Valerie Hopgood said: “We hope as many of you as possible will join us.

“Everyone is welcome whether you are member or not and we are asking for a donation of £3.50 to help cover costs.

“So why come and see what we are about. We are a friendly, happy society. We have our annual long weekend Friday September 25 - Monday 28; annual dinner Friday November 27; day trips to Newnham Shopping Village in October and Rochester Dickensian Christmas Festival, Sunday December 6. Details and booking forms will be in the newsletter due by the end of this month. There are three vacancies on the Committee, Vice Chairperson, Secretary and help with organizing the social activities, you do not need gardening experience or even have a garden or allotment, just some spare time. Contact Mr N Whitmarsh on 01424-220217.”
