Police are asking residents in Hastings and Rother if they have had gardening, landscaping, building tools and fishing equipment stolen recently.

A 42-year-old man from Hastings was arrested on suspicion of burglary with a large amount of property in his vehicle in Rye on September 28.

Police believe it may have come from garages and vehicles in the Hastings and Rother area.

PC Nathaniel Leach said: “We are trying to find the owners.

“Some of the property has already been identified being stolen but there is more that still needs to be identified.

“If you think it belongs to you, contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 86 of 28/09.”

The man is currently on bail until October 29, while enquiries continue.
