The residents of Richmond Care Home in Bexhill enjoyed a treat when they spent the afternoon grooving to the King of Rock and Roll last weekend.
The 58 bedded care home in Collington Lane East played host to an amazing afternoon of musical 50’s delights, which included an appearance by Elvis impersonator Andy T King.
The musical entertainment was followed by a feast of jelly doughnuts and ice cream sundaes.
Staff at Richmond have recently transformed the living with dementia dining room into a 50’s diner complete with jukebox and a cardboard cut out of Elvis.
Home manager Amanda Stovell said :“ We forget the older generation of today were very active in the 50’s and 60’s and this is indeed their kind of music!”
Residents enjoyed the event so much that Elvis will be back in the building at Christmas to perform for them again.
