In The Wings Youth Theatre Company is bringing to town Andrew Lloyd Webber’s long running musical ‘CATS’ based on the poems of T S Eliot.

There will be four performances at Bexhill College on August 1/2 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm each day and this will be the first time ‘CATS’ has been staged in Bexhill.

The cast will consist of over 30 young people from 9 to 21 years of age and the live orchestra will also include a majority of young musicians under 21.

Amongst the cast will be Carys Williams who was awarded the Joanna Lumley Scholarship to Battle Abbey School this year and Tyler Sargent who was awarded the same scholarship last year.

Both are regular members of In The Wings, which was formed a year ago, and both are hoping to make a career in the entertainment arts.

The show has been choreographed and directed by Rachel Anne Kennedy, an experienced professional dancer and the Musical Director will be Lorraine Barry who is well known for her recent successful productions at Bexhill College.

The Production Manager, Bernard Simon commented: “The young cast have been working hard for months to present, on what is a difficult show to perform, to a very high level, and I never fail to wonder at the excellence of the young local talent.

“It has to be seen to be believed.”
