Festival of the Sea - all good things come to those who bait

The Bexhill Festival of the Sea offers anglers the chance to put their skills to the test with 14 competitions held during the month of the festival (September 6-30).

The festival is hailed as the biggest sea and angling festival in the South East, offering a full month of angling events and competitions. Organisers say the competitions reflect all angling pursuits with competitions for beach, boat, kayak, specimen hunt, Junior Challenge Cup and the coveted bass specimen hunt. Organiser Carole Green said: ”A first for the festival is the introduction of coarse and fly fishing plus a charter boat competition.

“If you are a die hard specimen hunter, you can rove the beaches of Rother in search of the biggest fish, there is a pegged match for the social or match anglers and much more.
