Film nights celebrate Lent at St Barnabas

St Barnabas Church, Sea Road, Bexhill, is hosting a number of community film nights in the run up to Easter.

During the five weeks to Easter the local church will be screening ‘The Bible’ tv series (Certificate 12 - as shown on Channel 5 in December 2013) on Friday evenings.

A spokesperson for the church said the series gives a “very moving portrayal of Biblical events and characters from Genesis through to Revelation” over five two-hour episodes, adding: “Lent is a traditional time for reflection, and it is hoped that this series of evenings, which is open to all in the community, will provide an opportunity for this in the beautiful environment of St Barnabas’ Church.”

These special celebratory evenings will be hosted by Rev Nicholas Burton on Friday March 14, 21, 28, and April 4. Commencing at 6pm for 6:30 pm till 8:30pm. The film will be followed by light discussion and prayer till 9pm.

There is no charge to attend the events but donations would be welcome for church funds.

Tea/coffee will be provided in a short interval, and guests are invited to take their own food.
