Fire fighters clean up for charity

A car wash at Bexhill Community Fire Station saw fire fighters getting busy in the fight against filth.

This year’s Fire Fighters Charity National car wash took place on Saturday and also at other station across East Sussex which opened their doors and spent the day washing cars and talking to members of the public.

Spokesman Richard Broady said: “The Fire Fighters Charity is available to support everyone in the firefighting community along with their families and each year the Charity directly supports more than 4500 people to be fitter, healthier and happier.

It costs £9 million a year to keep the Fire Fighters Charity running. With no Government funding the charity relies completely on donations and goodwill.

You can still do your bit and support firefighters nationwide by having your car washed next Saturday March 15 at Battle, Broad Oak or Roedean - look out for the posters.
