Have your say

Eating all your Easter chocolates in one sitting is healthier for you than eating them slowly across the day, dental experts have claimed.

Oral hygiene experts TePe say when tucking into Easter eggs this weekend, people should eat it one sitting straight after a single meal.

They say eating your chocolate immediately after your meals reduces the number of acid attacks on your teeth.

A spokesman for TePe said, “Over Easter whilst the very thought of a steady and unregulated intake of chocolate and yummy treats is a tempting one, your teeth who would much prefer that you eat your Easter treats all in one go rather than throughout the day.

“It takes our mouths between 20 minutes and two hours to re-balance the decay causing acids which are produced by eating sugars; therefore, grazing on sweet treats keeps the teeth under constant attack.

“Confining your chocolate indulgence to immediately after meals is a much more ‘tooth friendly’ way of enjoying the chocolaty delights of Easter.”
