Equal rights for all
READING an article in The Resident recently, made me realise, Pebsham residents must indeed count themselves as fortunate to have Charlie Clark as their councillor. His efforts to protect and help all needy members in his ward, whatever their age, are to be applauded.
He recognises the need to include the elderly in his concerns; too often we hear the words ‘we are not just going to consider the needs of the elderly in this’, as if the elderly had been raising their voices making selfish and unreasonable demands, when many of us know this is very far from the reality of what happens. How many people in Bexhill, I wonder, are made to feel that when they reach a certain age their views don’t count?
One does not question for a moment that Councillor Clark will give equal consideration and voice to all constituents in his ward both young, old and in between, and this is what everyone has a right to expect, equal rights for all.
So more power to him I say, and let’s see more like him.
