Gritting woes
DESPITE problems last winter with buses slithering all over the Old Town stretch of De La Warr Road, East Sussex highways department did not seemed to have twigged that this is part of the main Hastings/Eastbourne bus route.
The road did not appear to have been gritted on Saturday and was certainly not ploughed on Sunday, whereas Manor Road was - twice.
De La Warr Road was so treacherous on Sunday that a twit in a Subaru (you know who you are) used it for skid-pan practice, grinning wildly as he gave a wonderful example of good road use to his young teenage passenger.
Can anyone make a dent in the monumental stupidity of ESCC bureaucracy?
