Poem dedicated to town’s mayoress

TOGETHER

Together we were

Together we are

Now and for Ever

We saw, we met, and stayed together

A friendship - our hearts decided

And went for Ever

There and then, and lasted for Ever

Days of yester, days of Today, spent together

Talk and laughed, laud and lovely when we were

Together

Filled our souls - our crystal souls - pure with

Purest joy - to the brim - we shared together

Days of joy, days of sorrow we passed together

Near or far, we stayed together

East and West, we bond together

Hand in hand we walk now, together

Beyond walls, barriers, or form, or frame, we walk together

Burst Asunder, our cages, unfettered to fly together

Free of form and of Figure, we do enter into the Firmament.

Bahareh Saadatw-Yazdi, whose husband Jalal passed away 18 days before mayoress Romanie Wood.
