Saturday opening at Little Common Library is being discontinued due to lack of support.
The volunteer run library decided to open on Saturdays to offer people who work during the week a chance to use the facility.
Susan Hardy, from the Little Common Library Committee, said: “After opening on Saturdays for six months the committee has decided that it is no longer viable.
“Regretfully we did not increase our reader numbers from the working population in the village, so we are returning to our original hours of 9.30 – 16.00 on Tuesdays and 9.30 – 12.30 on Fridays. We hope this does not inconvenience those who have visited on Saturdays too much. The last Saturday we will be open is June 27.
“We would like to thank all those who have been and the volunteers who have done extra sessions. We would also like to thank the Community Centre for allowing us to use the facility to see how it would work.
“If anyone is interested in joining the library please do come on Tuesdays or Fridays.
“You will find a large selection of books to choose from and very friendly volunteers to assist you.”
The library stocks over 3,000 titles.
