John’s latest book The Grammar Years, subtitled Town and School: Bexhill-on-Sea in the 1940s, struck a resonant chord. For those not only with memories of its schools but of the town in general in the post-war era.

John brought both laughter and applause with extracts covering his school days, the town and home-life in Windsor Road.

John was afterwards kept busy signing copies of The Grammar Years. The book is now available from the museum shop at £6.
