Bexhill’s social calendar gets into full swing next weekend with its very own Ale & Arty Real Ale and Music Festival.
Now in its second year the two day event - organised by Bexhill Rotary club - will be held at the De La Warr Pavilion (DLWP) on Friday March 21 and Saturday March 22.
Event organiser, Rotarian Colin Stutely sad last year’s Festival was a huge success and this year promises to be even better. “We are confident that the Festival is going to be a great success, all the preparations are well in hand thanks to the great and professional support from the De La Warr Pavilion.”
The Festival features a long list of real ales, including Franklins (the main supporter of the festival), Brighton Bier Co, Burning Sky, Okells, Harveys, Two Cocks, London Fields, Hackney, ELB, Clarence & Fredericks, Late Night, By The Horns, Cronx, Brodie’s, Shamble Moose, Head in a Hat, Marbles, Red Willow and Tiny Rebel. Colin said there will also be a cider bar with a range of “very tasty” farm ciders to sample too.
He added: “The Festival is not only a celebration of the art of brewing but also a huge fund raising event with the proceeds this year going to a range of carefully selected good causes including St Michael’s Hospice, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, hearing Dogs for the Deaf.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of people who want to enjoy the wide range of beers and ciders on offer as well as enjoying the live music from three very good local bands and raising lots of money for charity as well!”
On top of what Colin describes as “gorgeous and very quaffable liquid”, live music will be performed by The Exiles on Friday (March 21) 7 pm, No Exit on Saturday (March 22) 11.30am -3pm, followed later in the evening by Howlin Blues at 7 pm,
