Bells and Christingles

Youngsters made 100 Christingles for St Mary Magdalene’s parish’s unusual Advent celebration in St Martha’s Church, Little Common.

The Christingles were made from an orange with red ribbon round the middle, a candle at the top and four sticks with sweets hanging round the sides, to symbolise various aspects of the Christian faith. The church was packed and when candles were lit there was a “wonderful” atmosphere. Musical interludes on hand bells were performed by Senlac Bells.
