Bexhill dementia awareness

A pioneering community roadshow aimed at increasing awareness of dementia is coming to Bexhill today (Friday).

An estimated 10,200 people currently living in East Sussex suffer from dementia - and that number is set to increase to around 10,800 by next year and just under 14,000 by 2020.

Many people with dementia actually go without a proper diagnosis and with that in mind The Alzheimer’s Society is heading out on tour along the south coast to hand out free information, offer advice to anyone with queries about the condition and promote the benefits of an early diagnosis.

And the roadshow will be at Tesco in Ravenside Retail Park between 10am and 4pm today. People who are currently living with dementia, are worried about a friend or relative’s memory, or just have questions about the condition, are encouraged to drop by with no appointment necessary.
