Motorcycle enthusiasts and residents in Bexhill are gearing up for a day of fun when MotoFest comes to town.

An exciting part of the free event will include a centrepiece exhibit of the HESKETH 24, the only bike of its kind in the world, which will be coming to the Sussex coast for visitors to admire.

The festival takes place on Sunday July 27 on the seafront and surrounding area and among features of the day are a Veteran and Vintage motorcycle display and Cavalcade, motorcyle display parking in the town centre, Bexhill 100 Classic Car display and a unique Motorcycle as Art exhibition on the De La Warr Pavilion terrace featuring the HESKETH 24 - which is coming by special arrangement of bike 1066. The motorcycle will become a limited edition of only 24.

Referring to the HESKETH 24, Howard Martin, director of Bexhill MotoFest, said: “It’s a real coup for Bexhill, it’s the first one ever built.”

MotoFest takes place from 9am - 5pm and will also include a children’s fun fair, live music, trade stands, exhibitors, Moto Gymkhana UK Championship Round IV.

In 1902 Bexhill on Sea became the birthplace of British Motorcycle Racing with the launch of the Bexhill Sprints along the sea front promenade where cars, motorised bicycles and tricycles would compete head to head in a sprint time trial. The sprints ended because of safety fears in 1924 and organised motorsport disappeared from Bexhill until 2013 when a Moto Gymkhana demonstration event took place on the De La Warr Pavilion car park.

There will be road closures in place during the event. For more information visit: www.bexhillmotofest.co.uk
