Volunteers in Bexhill have just one more week to sign-up to Marks & Spencer’s (M&S) Big Beach Clean-up taking place on April 25 at Glyne Gap beach.

A number of local litter-pickers, community groups and organisations have already enlisted and will join Bexhill’s deputy Mayor, Brian Kentfield, and M&S Bexhill employees from 10:30am in a bid to scoop up as much litter and debris as they can. After scouring the beach for rubbish, helpers will be treated to a beach-side BBQ, live entertainment, games and a money-off M&S voucher for those who pre-register.

Rob Harford, Store Manager M&S Bexhill, said: “We’re urging local people to join us on the beach for what promises to be a fun-filled morning. We’d love to help smash last year’s UK-wide collection of 30 tonnes of litter so it would be fantastic if anyone is able to spare an hour to help us tidy their local beach and protect local marine life.”

Register via Big Beach Clean-up partner, the Marine Conservation Society: www.mcsuk.org/foreverfish.
