Bexhill Town Team is to purchase a mobile CCTV Unit to be used by police which can be easily installed at any temporary location.
Chairman Hillary Randall said: “Bexhill Police have always been a part of the Town Team which, since its inception, has worked to implement recommendation 10 of the Portas Review which is to make the town centre attractive, accessible and safe.”
The Town Team, working with officers from Rother District Council, is installing 18 new cycle racks in the town centre and an additional five in the DLWP car park. Hillary added: “We are grateful to RDC, East Sussex County Council and Ian Hollidge of Bexhill Wheelers for help and cooperation on this project. Cycling is generally becoming more popular and Bexhill has benefited from the opening of the new cycle route, but there is a shortage of cycle racks...We’d like to make cyclists feel welcome and have racks conveniently situated.”
