There are now just ten weeks to go until the town’s largest annual event - Bexhill Carnival.
Last year more than 35,000 residents joined in one of the many events held during carnival week and organisers hope this year will be bigger and better.
The event will be held from Saturday July 19 to Saturday July 26 with the theme of Story Books & Nursery Rhymes, which the organisers hope will be reflected throughout the celebrations, but specifically and colourfully at the ultimate event – the carnival procession on Saturday July 26.
For the second year running, insurance broker and Bexhill’s largest employer Hastings Direct will the carnival’s lead sponsor, but the event will be supported by main local businesses all raising money for three local charities: Charity for Kids, Surviving Christmas and the Bexhill Autism Society.
Nim Whitmarsh, carnival chairman said: “Plans are well underway to ensure that 2014 is a successful year.
“The committee has been hard at work since January to ensure that the events throughout carnival week are a real success, including the return of ‘It’s a Knockout’ – Commando Fitness style.
“Thank you to Hastings Direct for agreeing to be our main sponsor, we still have a number of co-sponsorship packages left, so we hope other Bexhill businesses will come on board and support us again this year.”
