A Bexhill couple lost al most 11 stone between them to reach the final of a national weight-loss competition.
Kevin and Holly Brown were one of 21 finalists in the Slimming World Couple of the Year 2014. They narrowly lost out on the top prize but say teaming up to shed the stones rather than going it alone spurred them on.
Mr Brown, 39, lost six stone from his starting weight of just over 19 stone. He said: “Losing weight together made a big difference because we were able to spur each other on every week. We eat much healthier now.
“We’re both more active too and enjoy putting the children on their trikes and going for nice long walks along the seafront.”
Mrs Brown, 31, lost four stone to reach the couple’s 10 stone 12lbs combined loss, she said they were delighted to be part of the finals, adding: “If we’re honest, we already feel like we’ve won the biggest prize we could ever have wished for because losing weight has completely changed our lives.
“It was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made, we’ve got a healthier future together with our children as a result.”
Emma Vieira, who runs the Bexhill Slimming World group, said she’s proud of Kevin and Holly’s achievement.
