Craft and gift fair inside stunning local church

Tomorrow sees the next arts, crafts and gift fair inside the majestic St Barnabas Church in Sea Road, Bexhill.

Doors open at 10am and refreshments and light lunches are available from the community coffee shop. Entrance is free and there is full disabled access and toilet facilities, and parking. The fair finishes at 3pm.

These ‘Second Saturday Stands’ are organised by Cantelupe Community Association, a registered charity, to raise awareness of the many community uses of the church building which stands on the crossroads between the railway station and the seafront. Funds raised help with the restoration of the listed building as well as other local causes. The Association aims to protect the heritage of the area and successfully nominated the bowls greens in Knole Road as an Asset of Community Value - a provision of the Localism Act 2011. The site, together with the old cinema in Western Road, is now listed and has survived legal challenges from developers anxious to build on one of the last green open spaces in the town centre.”
