A large window was broken at the De La Warr Pavilion at the weekend in an attempted break-in.
Security systems prevented any worse damage and it’s likely the event was captured on CCTV according to Sussex Police.
DLWP director Stewart Drew said: “We had an attempted break-in on Friday night, however no one entered the building and nothing was stolen, although damage has been caused to one of the large windows on the south side.
“Our team were actually on site, although the building was closed to the public, and the part of the building affected was alarmed. Our alarm system was triggered and the event was captured on CCTV.
“We can see from the CCTV footage that there were passers by on the colonnade and we would welcome any witnesses coming forward to the police.”
