This is a busy time for these youngsters from the East Sussex School of Performing Arts. Far from breathing a sigh of relief that the holidays are almost here they are busy appearing in world class opera at Glyndebourne.
The children pictured (from left) are Jack McWilliams, Molly Ann Murfin, Poppy May Murfin, Kitty Horsman, and Peter Tite, and they are currently in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin at the Glyndebourne Opera House. They have been rehearsing since April. Their first performance was in mid-May and they perform twice weekly until July 11.
ESSPA principal Teena Symonds said: “All are thoroughly enjoying their time on stage, with the full London Philharmonic Orchestra at their feet and international opera stars at their side. It has been an education of a special kind and they really appreciate how lucky they are.”
