The skill, imagination and creativity of colourful arrangements in the “Festival Of Festivals” over the long weekend delighted a stream of visitors to Ninfield Memorial Hall.
The event was held by Ninfield Flower Group which meets on Monday to find out how much was raised over three days of the show. and who has won the much-coveted award for People’s Choice which goes to the favourite display.
Programme secretary Jennifer Collett said: “It went very well. We had a full day on Saturday when the rain was pouring down, we were so busy. The committee really worked hard, and there were so many people doing so many jobs, such as putting up the drapes for the festival. And thanks to those who made refreshemnts - Betty Harmer, Felicity Parker, and Jean Smith, who had help from the Sara Lee Trust.”
Highlights of the festival, which had 26 arrangements, included Chinese New Year, which was made by Eileeen Parnaby in colours of red and gold, Jack In The Green with Maypole by Lynn Carter, who also made Hastings Pirate Day, and Jennifer’s own Hastings Musical Festival in white bridal gladioli with black calla lilies.
Ninfield Flower group meets every month and has approximately 60 members.
